Method to Remove Stuck Oil Filter

You might think about methods and often search about methods. For your ease, we cover all the important and easy methods. Such methods are not only easy but much efficient to solve your problem. Let’s have a look at the methods and tools that you can use to get rid of this nuisance.

1. Use of Screwdriver:

You can even use a screwdriver to remove the stuck oil filter. To do this, you need a thin screwdriver because the place in the engine is very tight, and you need to be careful about this. It would help if you placed a screwdriver between the gasket and block and slide it to lose it. If this method didn’t work, you could wrench the filter by putting a screwdriver in it.

But this will create oil leakage from the filter, don’t worry about this. If the above methods didn’t work, then you can use a drill machine to make a hole. After making a hole, you need to place a screwdriver in it and rotate it. This method will help you to remove the oil filter.

2. Use of Filter wrench:

Another method is a filter wrench; you must have a filter wrench at home. It is basically a U-shaped wrench, which gets fits into the oil filter and provides comfort to you. But keep in mind that this process is really messy. Almost 25%, it didn’t work.  You need to apply a lot of force while using this.

3. Use of Strap Wrench:

A strap wrench has basically consisted of the strap only all you need to fit the strap wrench into the filter and twist it. This method works okay, but sometimes there isn’t a space to place a wrench, so it doesn’t work there.

4. Use of Pedal Wrench:

It consists of a chain and a handle. You can tighten it by making it short. In this, you hook it up to the size of your oil filter, and then you rotate or turn it. In this way, you can loosen the tight oil filter.  You can use it whenever you need this but make sure you have enough space to place the wrench.

5. Use of Vise-grip Wrench:

You just need to resize it and press it down. It gives a good firm grip. You will need less force on it. When you tighten the wrench, you need to turn it in one direction, and then the oil filter will come out.

6. Use of Lubricant:

You can use a lubricant to loosen it. You can do lubricating with fluid-like wd-40 or some other oils. Sprinkle the spray between the oil filter and the place where it stuck. So, it can be easy to remove it. You need to wait for 10-15 minutes, and after that, you can easily remove it.
